Open At The Mall Galleries, London, from 14 to 23 November
The ING Discerning Eye returns to the Mall Galleries, London, with its largest exhibition to date.
More than 730 artworks by 529 artists have been selected from a staggering 6,500 entries, reflecting the breadth and vibrancy of contemporary British art.
Curated by a panel of six art world figures - Curtis Holder, Polly Morgan, Richard Ansett, Rosie Millard, Dr Chris Stephens, and Nicholas Scott - the exhibition offers a dynamic mix of styles, subjects, and media.
Each selector made independent choices, resulting in six distinct curatorial perspectives within one cohesive show.
A virtual edition of the exhibition will run until 31 December 2025, extending access to audiences nationwide and beyond.

2024 Exhibition Highlights

The 2024 ING Discerning Eye Exhibition featured 685 works, curated by six selectors including Will Gompertz, Adebanji Alade and Gabrielle Blackman.

Sculpture Prize, £300: Ben Russell, Modus.
Portrait Prize, £300: Ruth Fitton, Attitude (study).
Print Prize, £300: Cathryn Kuhfeld, Lake Como.
Parker Harris Mentoring Prize: Victoria Rees, Vic, You Have 45 Minutes.
Seven regional prizes, worth £250 each, were awarded by the board of Discerning Eye to outstanding talent around the UK:
Wales: Richard Prentice, Anthropogenic Lidded Vase.
North of England: Richard Baker, Unit 5.
Northern Ireland: Hannah O’Hagan Guinness No.3.
Scotland: Donald Macdonald, Paper No.1.
South of England: Louise Lawton, Thirteen.
Midlands: Michelle Heron, Waiting Room.
London: Liane Lang, Circle Stone.
