ING and THE DISCERNING EYE ~ PARTNERS SUBLIME
As the partnership between ING Bank and The Discerning Eye enters its thirteenth year, DE Chief Executive, Tony Humphreys, is delighted that the importance of this relationship has, in 2011, received recognition, by winning two awards at the inaugural Corporate Engagements Awards, established by Communicate magazine.
The awards, Europe's only dedicated celebration of corporate partnerships and sponsorship, were judged by a jury of sponsorship, marketing and communications practitioners, experts and academics. Criteria on which entrants were judged included strategy and objectives, execution of that strategy and its effectiveness and outcome, all being evaluated on a point scoring system. Entries had to show how thoroughly the organisation measured the success of the sponsorship and the return on investment and how mutually beneficial the relationship was.
The panel had a broad field to judge, including sports-centred sponsorships, single event sponsorships, pro bono work and the best schemes involving employee participation.
At a glitzy evening in July, hosted by the BBC Arts Editor, Will Gompertz, the ING/Discerning Eye partnership was distinguished with awards in the Best Art-Centred Corporate Sponsorship Activity (up against other partnerships involving the Young Vic and JazzFM), and in the Best Community Involvement in Sponsorship Activity.
“We are really thrilled to have been recognised with these two awards”, says Adrian Simpson, Head of UK Corporate Communications, ING Commercial Banking. “It reflects the hard work we have put in to make the ING Discerning Eye a success. This sponsorship is an integral part of ING's wider activities involving the arts. We are committed to encouraging interest in the arts and generating opportunities and accessibility for all in this fie1d.”
Our congratulations go to ING for this well deserved recognition.
