exhibition insight

out of chaos . . . countdown to the opening night

The works have been submitted, the selections made - but how many people realise what is involved in making the exhibition look so spectacular, particularly for the Private View evenings?

Behind each successful exhibition are teams of people dedicated to making it look good and to do justice to the works exhibited, to the selectors' distinctive and individual choices and to the generosity of the sponsors. In the lead up to last year's show, Discerning Eye newsletter editor Mary Dodwell witnessed just what was involved in the 36 hours or so before the doors of the Mall Galleries opened up to the treasures inside.
