It was a fantastically well attended event, built around the 'drawing' theme, a theme common to two other 2005 Discerning Eye initiatives - the Exhibition sponsor's drawing initiative, the ING Drawing School 2005 (see further in this Newsletter) and the 2005 DE Bursary award for drawing.

Three artists were on hand to give demonstrations and run workshops. Jason Bowyer set up a life drawing workshop, Liza Dimbleby worked on observational crowd sketches and Phoebe Cope concentrated on portrait work. Many visitors took up charcoal and pencils, whilst others looked on. In addition, the four shortlisted DE Bursary contenders Joan Gabie, Susannah Harris Hughes, Tiziana Mazzoli and Anabelle Shelton, led art discussion tours around the exhibition.
