This year instead of a debate, Mark Richards and Tom Coates gave demonstrations in Portrait Sculpture and Painting respectively.  Study in profiles! Mark Richards at work  Tom Coates demonstrating the art of portraiture in oils Friends and Members were able to discuss technique with the artists as they worked and some friends and members even joined in alongside Tom making their own sketches of the sitter. The evening was such a success that a similar approach is being considered again for the 2005 exhibition.If any Friends and Members have any suggestions for this year please get your thoughts to Jane Wright.
