The 2002 Discerning Eye Exhibition attracted a record number of entries from all over the country. During the two days of selection at the Mall Galleries in September some 240 works were selected from over 2100 entries.

This makes the Discerning Eye one of the most competitive exhibitions of its kind. The standard of entry was extremely high and the range of mediums used were diverse. Each of the selectors choices will be hung alongside their invited artists which this year range from Royal Academicians such as Ken Howard and John Wonnacott to new talent including Mark Wallinger and the recent winner of the Jerwood Drawing Prize, Adam Dant.

The 2002 Exhibition is being held at the Mall Galleries, the Mall, London from the 15-24th November 2002 with a Friends and Members Preview on Wednesday the 13th November 2002 from 6pm. This special evening will start with the annual The Discerning Eye debate which this year will explore 'Corporate Collections: The Saviour or The Death of Contemporary Art' at 6pm. During the evening members of the Discerning Eye Educational Panel will be available to give tours of the exhibition and to answer any questions visitors may have. The Artists' Preview will take place on Thursday the 14th November 2002.
