about us educational advisory board tom coates![]() Tom Coates is a past president of the Royal Society of British Artists and of the Pastel Society. He has won many awards throughout his career, has received numerous prestigious commissions both in the UK and overseas and has paintings in collections worldwide, including the Royal Collection.Tom was born in Birmingham, England, in 1941 and studied first at the Birmingham College of Art then at the Royal Academy Schools. He is a master in figurative painting and drawing, winning his first major prize in the Sunday Times Watercolour Exhibition of 1988. In 2007, he was awarded the Ondaatje Prize for Portraiture. james lloyd![]() James Lloyd is an acclaimed portraitist. He was born in 1971 and held the Paul Smith scholarship at the Slade School of Fine Art from 1994 to 1996.James' illustrious career has seen him winning 2 of the most prestigious global portrait awards.
